COMMUNITY TRAINING: YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING (Blended)
December 8, 2023 @ 8:30 am - 1:30 pm
FreePrevent+Ed is hosting a virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid training.
MHFA is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people.
This is a Blended course where participants complete a 2 hour self-paced training prior to the in-person portion of the course on 12/8. After registering, participants will be sent instructions via email on how to access and complete the self-paced portion of the training. Participants must complete 2 hours of self-paced training prior to the course date. The 5-hour portion of the course is a small group-interactive in-person training and will be held at PreventEd’s Franklin County Office.
Courses are only open to those who live/work in Missouri. The course is valued at $170 per person, but is being provided to you at no cost by Missouri’s Department of Mental Health. Please ensure this funding does not go to waste by communicating any cancellations in advance.
